The Edmonton Oilers had plenty of practice surviving power plays last night as they committed seven of the game's 10 penalties but prevailed anyway in a 3-1 win over Columbus. For Edmonton fans, it was as good as a blowout—including this win, only four of the Oilers' 10 victories have come in regulation, reports the Edmonton Journal.

Edmonton's Kyle Brodziak started off the scoring early, and the game stayed tied through the second period until Andrew Cogliano slipped one past Blue Jackets' goalie Pascal Leclaire halfway through the third. Ales Hemsky put in the insurance goal 10 minutes later. Edmonton took just 20 shots on goal to Columbus's 37. (More NHL stories.)
