Herman Cain today addressed the sexual harassment story everyone is talking about. "I have never sexually harassed anyone," he told Fox News. "And yes, I was falsely accused while I was at the National Restaurant Association. I say falsely because it turned out, after the investigation, to be baseless." Though Politico reported that two women walked away from the NRA with five-figure payouts, Cain says he was never involved in any sort of settlement.

"If the Restaurant Association did a settlement, I wasn't even aware of it, and I hope it wasn't for much because nothing happened," he says. "So if there was a settlement, it was handled by some of the other officers that worked for me at the association." It's been a day of denials: Herman Cain’s infamous campaign manager Mark Block—he of the surreal cigarette smoking ad—told Chuck Todd of MSNBC earlier today that "Herman Cain has never sexually harassed anybody. Period. End of story." The topic then turned to Block’s ad. Block replied that one reason the campaign was successful was because "we let Herman be Herman, and Mr. Cain lets Block be Block. I smoke, it’s a fact." (Geraldo Rivera tore into a Cain rep earlier; click for that story.)
