He claims he didn't snub her at the State of the Union, but Barack Obama was definitely on offense against Hillary Clinton yesterday, arguing that another Clinton in the White House would be a step backward, AP reports. "I know it is tempting, after another presidency by a man named George Bush, to simply turn back the clock, and build a bridge back to the 20th century," said Obama, speaking to a crowd of 10,000 in Denver.

Obama's dig invoked Bill Clinton's 1990s promise to build a bridge to the 21st century; he also turned Hillary's rhetoric around, vowing to be not only ready but "right from Day One." "That certainly sounds audacious, but not hopeful," Hillary Clinton shot back, riffing on Obama's book, The Audacity of Hope. She urged her rival to "get back to talking about the issues" while he claimed to be more electable against likely GOP candidate John McCain."When I am the nominee, the Republicans won't be able to make this election about the past."
