The Justice Department will seek the death penalty in its case against alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Eric Holder announced today. "The nature of the conduct at issue and the resultant harm compel this decision," the attorney general said in a statement. The decision is not exactly a surprise, the AP observes; 17 of the 30 federal charges against the 20-year-old are potential capital offenses. (More Dzhokhar Tsarnaev stories.)
