Kylie Jenner wants to trademark her first name in the US—but a certain other famous Kylie isn't having it. KDB, an Australian firm representing Australian singer Kylie Minogue, officially opposed Jenner's trademark application last week, citing that such a move would dilute Minogue's brand and confuse her fans, the Guardian reports. As Billboard notes, Minogue "has been performing as 'Kylie' since before Jenner was born." The Mirror adds that Minogue has also owned Kylie.com since 1996, the year before Jenner was born. The paperwork filed by the firm also offers a series of Jenner slams:

  • She's described as a "secondary reality television personality" and a "supporting character" on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

  • The filing notes that "Ms. Jenner is active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities." That appears to be a reference to antics like Jenner posing in a wheelchair for a fashion shoot and/or buying a birthday cake for a mixed-race friend with "Happy birthday [n-word]" written on it in icing.
  • Compare that reputation with Minogue, who is responsible for "The Kylie Effect," the filing notes: a boost in awareness for early detection of breast cancer after Minogue's public battle with the disease, per Newsweek.
TMZ notes that Kendall Jenner filed the same trademark application for her own first name. As for Minogue, she owns the trademarks for "Kylie Minogue," "Kylie Minogue Darling" (the name of her perfume), and "Lucky—the Kylie Minogue Musical." (Also a problem: the "Kylie Jenner Challenge.")
