One of the less substantive things on the radar of those keeping an eye on the State of the Union address was the first lady's actions. And as the Washington Post reports, Melania Trump provided some early fodder: She broke with White House tradition and did not accompany her husband to the Capitol. A spokesperson explained that she wanted to travel with her guests instead to honor them. The first lady has not been seen in public with President Trump since New Year's Eve, though CNN notes that they are scheduled to share a ride back to the White House. (Here are the guests.)
