Piers Morgan clashed with Ariana Grande and Ariana Grande's mother on Twitter Wednesday—and it did not go well for the British TV presenter. In what Cosmopolitan calls a "spectacular takedown," Grande stepped in after her mother criticized tweets from Morgan in which he accused the band Little Mix of plagiarizing a Dixie Chicks cover and said Ellen DeGeneres was a hypocrite for admiring men's bodies. Morgan slammed Little Mix for posing nude with insults written on them for a video. He also attacked member Jesy Nelson for posing in her underwear, saying she should "put some clothes on" because "she looks ridiculous," Variety reports. He told Joan Grande he would "prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity ... as your own daughter does!" Morgan is "known for being a provocateur" on these issues, the BBC notes.

Ariana Grande then entered the fray, tweeting: "I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice." In a follow-up tweet, she told the 53-year-old Morgan she looks forward "to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it." She also tweeted a photo of Morgan posing topless by a fire, saying: "When you do it, it's OK though, right?" Morgan later invited Grande to appear on his Good Morning Britain show and was rejected, USA Today reports. (Morgan also has beef with Chrissy Teigen.)
