President Trump appears poised to ramp up his arguments for a border wall with a prime-time address to the nation and a visit to the US-Mexico border. Trump tweeted that he will speak at 9pm Tuesday "on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border." And press chief Sarah Sanders tweeted that the president will visit the border on Thursday "to meet with those on the frontlines of the national security and humanitarian crisis," per the Hill. Details of the trip were to come later. The news comes as the government shutdown enters its third week, with Trump insisting on more than $5 billion for a wall and Democrats insisting they'll never provide it. (The president says the wall would actually be a "steel barrier.")
