Ariana Grande has now "fixed" her new palm tattoo ... kind of. Much drama ensued when the singer posted a photo of the tattoo, which was supposed to be the Japanese characters for "7 Rings" in honor of her latest single, only to find out a character was missing and it actually referred to a type of small Japanese barbecue grill. In an Instagram story Thursday, Grande revealed a tweak to the tattoo—an additional Japanese character and a heart—and wrote, "slightly better. thanks to my tutor for helping me fix and to [tattoo artist] @kanenavasard for being a legend. and to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). rip tiny charcoal grill. miss u man. I actually really liked u." There was just one small problem: It still didn't say what it was supposed to say.

As TMZ explains, Grande added the Japanese character for "finger," but the gossip site's sources say the "placement is off" and it actually now reads "Japanese BBQ finger." USA Today, meanwhile, says that based on how you read it, it could be translated as "Japanese BBQ grill finger," "Ring seven finger," or "Seven finger ring." As HuffPost explains, Grande also shared a text exchange with the aforementioned tutor, who actually said the new character would need to be added "between and above" the ones already inked onto her palm; instead, Grande added the additional character and the heart symbol directly below. As BuzzFeed notes, while many were laughing at Grande's continued errors, some were advising her to stop using a language she doesn't know for aesthetic purposes. (An ad featuring Jennifer Lawrence was recently slammed for cultural appropriation.)
