Bill O'Reilly hit back at Jon Stewart last night, saying the Daily Show host had gone "off the rails" with recent jokes about Fox News. Stewart Wednesday night sarcastically called Fox "secretly liberal," because commentators like O'Reilly are now doing all the things they attacked liberals for in old clips Stewart showed gleefully—supporting boisterous protesters, and whining if they're criticized. In response, O'Reilly said Stewart is pandering to his 45% liberal audience, the Huffington Post reports.

O'Reilly called Stewart's audience the most liberal on TV, and said that as a satirist Stewart thrives on cheap shots and distortions—which he labeled a "frightening" problem because young people in his audience take Stewart seriously as a news source. "He continues to dance down the liberal yellow brick road," O'Reilly scoffed.
