Landon Donovan: I'll Support Love Child

The day after Ghana ended US midfielder Landon Donovan's run of glory at the World Cup, a British woman dealt a blow to the soccer star's squeaky-clean image by announcing that she's carrying Donovan's love child. "I was informed of the possibility during the World Cup, and if I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support," Donovan told Sports Illustrated.

Donovan, 28, is married to actress Bianca Kajlich but has been separated from her for almost a year, the New York Daily News reports. He allegedly fathered the child with a British paramour while playing in the English Premier League in the UK this winter. During the World Cup he appeared to be trying to reconcile with Kajlich, blowing her a kiss and calling her his inspiration—an effort that probably won't be helped by news of the love child.
