America's own version of sadistic Josef Fritzl is locked up in Ohio facing charges for imprisoning one child and raping another, say law enforcement authorities. "They weren't like a traditional family," said an investigator after Jeffrey York's wife reported him to police. The wife and the couple's seven children, ages 3 months to 19, have been removed to a safe house, reports ABC News. York locked one of the children in a small room used for storage for most of a year with limited access to food, water, bathroom facilities and the rest of the family, according to investigators.
York has been charged with 19 criminal counts, including rape of a child under the age of 13, domestic violence, aggravated menacing, child endangerment, and "gross sexual imposition." The strange family kept to itself and dressed in "19th century clothing," says an investigator. The children were all homeschooled. "They were pretty well isolated," he said. "They didn't associate with the neighbors and didn't have much contact outside the immediate family." York has pleaded not guilty.
