Politics | Lady Gaga Gaga, Harry Reid Exchange Tweets on 'Don't Ask' Pop star asks her fans to help repeal it By Evann Gastaldo Posted Sep 14, 2010 1:48 PM CDT Copied Lady Gaga and her dates, who she says are gay veterans, arrive at the MTV Video Music Awards, Sept. 12, 2010 in Los Angeles. (AP Photo/Matt Sayles) Apparently it's Lady Gaga In the News Day. Her latest headline-grabbing act: Instructing her fans, via Twitter, to "CALL HARRY REID to Schedule Senate Vote" and "Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell." She tweeted the message along with a picture of herself at the MTV Video Music Awards with her dates, whom she identified as "Gay Veterans." (Hey, it's not a bad strategy—at least one senator is a huge Gaga fan!) Gaga's message hadn't been in the twittersphere long when Reid (or an aide) responded with a tweet of his own: “There is a vote on #DADT next week. Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so.” The quick response shows how much the Reid campaign wants to present its main man as hip to young voters, notes Mediaite.
