Big public monuments: Perfect for historical figures, war heroes, sports greats ... and Hootie? Yep, Hootie and the Blowfish merits its own monument, at least in Columbia, SC—the band's hometown. The tribute to the '90s crooners will be a full 20 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 12- to 14-feet tall, made of stainless steel and black granite, and—best of all—the street it's on will be honorarily renamed Hootie Boulevard. It will be unveiled Oct. 21, The State reports.
