(AP Photo/Alex Brandon) Add Steny Hoyer to the list of congressmen not in the Colbert Nation: The House majority leader today told Fox News Sunday that Stephen Colbert's "testimony was not appropriate. I think it was an embarrassment for Mr. Colbert more than the House. What he had to say was not the way it should have been said." Hoyer's comment strays from Nancy Pelosi's line that the comic's appearance was "great." Elsewhere on the Sunday dial, as per Politico: There won't be a vote on the Bush tax cuts before election day, said Hoyer, saying the issue's stalled in the Senate. He pledged a vote before year's end. Mike Pence defended the GOP's Pledge, saying it's "not the be-all, end-all," but rather "meant as a good start." Speaking of which, Dems continued to whack that piñata: Hoyer derided the Pledge as a "more spend than specifics" measure that would require slashing critical parts of the budget—including Pentagon spending.
