The body pulled from the Hudson River is indeed that of Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi, reports ABC News, and the death has been ruled a suicide. Clementi is the teen who jumped to his death after his roommate allegedly posted a video online of him with another man. His is the fourth suicide of a gay teen in the last month to generate headlines, notes the Opposing Views blog: "Tyler’s story is a sad reminder that the environment for LGBT young people in college isn’t always friendly and welcoming."

Clementi's friends continue to remember him as a friendly, quiet person and talented violinist. "He was one of those kids who never had a girlfriend and never had a boyfriend," says one. "You just thought he wasn't open for dating or anything like that." Meanwhile, a friend of accused roommate Dharun Ravi says he wasn't homophobic. "He's very, very open-minded. If it had been a girl in the room it wouldn't have been any different." (More Tyler Clementi stories.)
