Tyler Clementi's parents say they hope his death will make a difference: "Regardless of legal outcomes, our hope is that our family's personal tragedy will serve as a call for compassion, empathy and human dignity," said Jane and Joe Clementi in a statement. They also said the outpouring of sympathy from around the nation has been "humbling and deeply moving," reports ABC News. Their son's funeral will be private.
On campus, meanwhile, students are remembering Tyler at a makeshift memorial at the center of campus, and a moment of silence will be observed before the start of tomorrow's nationally televised football game. Police announced no new legal developments in the case against his roommate and another student accused of posting the spy tape of Tyler and another man that prompted his suicide.
