Ginni Thomas, intending to very belatedly salvage her man's reputation, instead made a mockery of it, opines Maureen Dowd in the New York Times. And while "it's too late to relitigate the shameful Thomas-Hill hearings," Ginni Thomas' errant phone call is just the latest instance of "supremely bad judgment" emanating from the Thomas household. Her Tea Party-linked nonprofit is running on two gifts totaling $550,000, Dowd writes—gifts whose donors she doesn't have to disclose because of Clarence Thomas' vote on Citizens United.

"(Clarence) Thomas and Scalia have flouted ethics rules by attending seminars sponsored by Koch Industries," Dowd writes, while the Citizens United decision all but returns "Republicans to control of Congress. So much for conservatives’ professed disdain of judicial activism." The Supreme Court's conservatives have not only eschewed impartiality, but they're "dug in, guzzling Tea." But never mind the collapse of separation of powers, "OK, have a good day!" (More Maureen Dowd stories.)
