Palin: 'Sleazy' GOP Establishment Is Out to Get Me

Sarah Palin was not pleased with Politico’s recent revelation that the GOP is determined to stop her from running for president in 2012. “Some within the establishment don’t like the fact that I won’t back down to a good-old-boys club,” she said in an appearance on Fox Business Network. “A lot of this has to do with control, power, money.” She went on to call the establishment “very sleazy” for working toward their own interests rather than what’s best for the party.

“Establishment bosses and advisers ... try to shape a candidate and get paid to shape that candidate,” she said. When asked about Mitt Romney, however, she was kinder (Romney was one of those who defended her on the heels of the Politico story). If he runs in 2012, “Mitt Romney would be a good candidate,” she said. “We have got some great candidates out there. Competition will breed success. We have to make sure in our party we don’t shy away from a competitive primary.”
