Tenn. Lawmaker Posts Blackface Pic on Facebook

Tennessee state Rep. Terri Lynn Weaver is under fire for posting a picture of herself on Facebook ... posing at a Halloween party with her pastor, who is in drag (not the issue) with his face painted black (the issue). The caption the Republican lawmaker typed under the photo adds insult to injury, say critics. It reads: "Aunt Jemima, you is so sweet."

Some of her colleagues were not amused. “This is what we've had to live with, making a mockery of being black and copying the language that Aunt Jemima used,” complained one. WSMV reports that Weaver has since removed the photo and apologized saying, “I surely didn’t mean to offend anybody.” Weaver insists that Democrats are making a big deal out of nothing, assuring people, ”I'm the least racist of anyone.
