In a "60 Minutes" interview aired last night, surly French President Nicolas Sarkozy called his press secretary an "imbecile," dismissed the interview as "stupid," and abruptly ended the conversation when asked about his estranged wife, Cécilia, Reuters reports. "If I had something to say about Cécilia, I would not do it here," were Sarko's parting words.

Since the interview was filmed, the Sarkozys have announced their divorce. Though Sarkozy doesn't seem too keen about the US media, he has expressed admiration for the US work ethic, American pop music, and the openness of American democracy to people from all backgrounds. "You can be called Schwarzenegger and be governor of California," marveled Sarkozy, a descendant of Hungarian immigrants. (More Nicolas Sarkozy stories.)
