Contender for quote of the day: “Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you come back real soon.” That's what passengers aboard the Carnival Splendor heard over the ship's loudspeaker after they got towed into port in San Diego and began disembarking this afternoon, reports the Los Angeles Times. They had been stranded at sea on a powerless ship since early Monday. A quote with a different tone: “You can’t ruin a honeymoon, but this came close.” (More Carnival Cruise Lines stories.)
