How shameful is it to be photographed in a compromising position with a teammate's dog? For Canberra Raiders rugby star Joel Monaghan, it's embarrassing enough for him to leave not just the team, but the country. The rugby player resigned from the club after a photo of him simulating a sex act with a dog at a house party circulated online. His manager says he will now look for playing opportunities in England, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

An emotional Monaghan—who said the incident was "a moment of abject stupidity brought about by too much drink and a complete lack of any thought process"—stood with the team and its owner as he announced his resignation at a press conference this week. "I'll have to handle the jokes and taunts, which is understandable, but the players shouldn't have to put up with the pressure of my ongoing presence," he said. "I received a huge amount of support from all the players and loved ones, but the reality is the prank isn't going to be forgotten anytime soon." Click here for more.
