Rangers Rally to Beat Lightning

The New York Rangers offense didn’t exactly light it up against the Tampa Bay Lightning but they did enough to win, 3-1. Jaromir Jagr’s third period power play goal broke a 1-1 tie and Brendan Shanahan added some insurance with a power play goal of his own less than three minutes later, according to the New York Daily News.

Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 21 of 22 shots, the only stain on his otherwise impeccable performance was a Vincent Lecavalier penalty shot in the second period. Lundqvist has not allowed more than one goal in four of the past five games. Newly-aquired center Chris Drury had two assists for the Blueshirts. Lightning net-minder Johan Homqvist recorded 32 saves. (More hockey stories.)
