The state Republican Party has asked him to concede, but Joe Miller's not ready to call it quits—even though he'd be thousands of votes behind even if he won every challenge to the write-in ballots. The GOP Senate candidate has asked a federal judge for an injunction stopping officials from certifying the election, in which Lisa Murkowski has declared victory, AP reports.

Murkowski has a lead of 10,400 votes, and Miller's team has challenged 8,153 ballots. However, Miller said in an affidavit filed yesterday that the hand count of write-in ballots began a week earlier than scheduled, leaving his team without enough time to properly train observers, so "an indeterminate number of ballots with candidates' names misspelled were counted without being challenged during the first several days of counting." Miller says he plans to request a recount. (More Joe Miller stories.)
