A little over-reaction, maybe? An Oklahoma City teacher put a student under citizen’s arrest last week—for using a permanent marker. A little-known city law, probably aimed at stopping graffiti, bans people from using such markers on private property without the owner’s consent. The teacher told police the 13-year-old was writing on a desk. Cops apparently agreed with the decision and transferred him to a center for arrested juveniles. The school district promises to look into the incident after the holiday break, the Oklahoman reports. (More marker stories.)
