The drip-drip-drip of Verizon-is-getting-the-iPhone news will finally end on Tuesday. That's when the wireless carrier will formally announce that the rumors are true at an event in New York City, reports the Wall Street Journal. It will be the first time that iPhone users can go outside of AT&T, though the Journal notes that the development probably means more trouble for smaller carriers such as Sprint and T-Mobile. Still no word on when the phones will go on sale, but one reading of the tea leaves suggests February 3.
