Girls Arrested for Planning 'Attack a Teacher Day'
Not a fan of your teacher? You probably still shouldn't threaten him or her on Facebook.   (Shutter Stock)

Not a good idea: Inviting 100 of your friends to an event—planned on Facebook!—called “Attack a Teacher Day.” The student hosting the ill-advised event and five others who posted threats to teachers on the Facebook page were arrested last week and, not surprisingly, also suspended from school. The 12- and 13-year-olds, all girls, were booked at juvenile hall on a misdemeanor charge, the AP reports. Eighteen students had RSVPed “yes” to the event.

The girls say it was a joke, but the principal of one of the middle schools involved points out, “School shootings really happen. It's not OK, and it's not funny in this day and age.” He adds, “This is kind of disheartening to an educator."
