The Sundance Film Festival opens Thursday: What films should you anticipate the most? The Daily Beast highlights 14 that are getting the most buzz:

  • Margin Call: Set at the beginning of 2008’s financial meltdown, an entry-level analyst discovers a glitch in the system of the investment firm he works at. Kevin Spacey leads a cast that also includes Jeremy Irons and Demi Moore.
  • Page One: This documentary goes behind the scenes at the New York Times, including a look at the problems facing the paper with the rise of Internet news.

  • Red State: Kevin Smith’s first horror movie deals with extreme Christian fundamentalism, and was said to be inspired by the Westboro Baptist Church.
  • The Details: Elizabeth Banks and Tobey Maguire star in this dark comedy about a married couple whose perfect life is disrupted by the appearance of a family of raccoons in their yard.
  • Homework: A loner and a popular girl come together in this high school film starring Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma.
  • My Idiot Brother: This Paul Rudd comedy has a lot more going for it than just the Rashida Jones-Zooey Deschanel lesbian relationship, DB promises.
