A gorilla in a British animal park has turned a number of heads with his habit of walking upright on two legs, MSNBC reports. Ambam, a 21-year-old silverback, lives in the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, and apparently continues a family tradition of upright walking. "Ambam’s father Bitam used to display the same behavior if he had handfuls of food to carry," says gorilla keeper Phil Ridges.

"Ambam also has a full sister, Tamba, and a half-sister who also sometimes stand and walk in the same way," he says. Ambam has become something of a celebrity, with a video of his bipedal gait becoming a YouTube smash. "All gorillas can do it to some extent but we haven’t got any who do it like Ambam," says Ridges.
