Homeless Couple Wins Trip to Super Bowl

Ouida Wright and her boyfriend may be homeless, but these Green Bay residents are going to the Super Bowl anyway. The couple won a Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau contest involving a “mystery man” who was wandering the streets of Green Bay on Saturday. To win, contestants had to locate the man and utter a secret phrase to him, found on the DCV Facebook page: “Have you been to Dallas lately?” Wright and her boyfriend happened to be walking around downtown when they caught on to the contest and how it worked.

The couple, who lives in a homeless shelter, had just come from a soup kitchen and were approached by a few people who were trying to find the mystery man. They started playing the game, and found the man themselves on their fourth try, Fox11 reports. The DCV later surprised the couple by deciding to pay for their airfare to Dallas as well. “We had 90 cents in our pockets,” Wright told Good Day Wisconsin, “and we have won a package that people would have offered thousands of thousands of dollars for."
