Elizabeth Taylor has been hospitalized for symptoms related to congestive heart failure, reports People, "an ongoing condition" she was diagnosed with in 2004. "This issue is being addressed," says a statement from her reps. The 78-year-old actress, who has a litany of health problems, had been scheduled to receive an award for her AIDS activism earlier this week, notes the AP, an honor Elton John accepted in her stead. She's currently at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

"Her family and close friends are appreciative of the warm support and interest of her loyal fans," says the statement, "but have asked that people respect her privacy and allow her medical team the time and space to focus on restoring her back to health." (More Elizabeth Taylor stories.)
