Scott Brown is making headlines this evening over a 60 Minutes interview in which he says he was sexually abused by a camp counselor and physically abused by his stepfathers. CBS aired an excerpt ahead of Sunday's show. The Massachusetts senator said the camp counselor touched him and forced him to touch back. "Fortunately, nothing was ever fully consummated, so to speak, but it was certainly, back then, very traumatic," Brown said. It happened more than once, and the counselor threatened to kill him if he told.

Brown also said he got roughed up by his stepfathers and even wanted to buy one house where it occurred so he could "burn it down." Growing up in broken homes made him especially vulnerable to the camp abuse, he said. "When people find people like me at that young vulnerable age, who are basically lost, the thing that they have over you is, they make you believe that no one will believe you." The revelations are included in a memoir Brown has written on his life and the Senate election, entitled Against All Odds. (More sexual abuse stories.)
