(AP Photo/Palm Beach Post, Lannis Waters) Jorge Barahona, the man whose adopted twin children were found doused in toxic chemicals inside his truck on the side of the highway Monday, has been charged with attempted murder for the injuries sustained by 10-year-old Victor, the Miami Herald reports. Barahona, who has not been charged in the death of Victor's sister, Nubia, is being held without bond, reports the Miami Herald. On the way to a hearing yesterday, Barahona hurled himself into a sink, in an unsuccessful attempt to knock himself unconscious. In court on Wednesday, a judge asked the DCF investigator who had been assigned to look into reports of abuse, "How could you get a call to the hotline on Feb. 10th, and the child be dead by Feb. 14?" She responded that she visited the house on Friday the 11th but did not see the children, and ended her investigation around 9pm with plans to return Monday, because "we don’t do investigations on weekends," a statement her bosses denied.
