Florida’s Bar prohibits discrimination based on gender, but Kenny Leigh doesn’t care. He’s built a bustling firm on the slogan “Men Only. Family Law Only,” and though he’s since changed it, he says he’d still never take a female client. “The only thing that’s very consistent about family law is how unfair it is to men,” Leigh tells the Florida Times-Union. “The current system turns a father into a visitor and a paycheck.”

The Bar has sent a letter to Leigh reminding him of its policies but says it would take action only if someone filed a discrimination complaint—not that Leigh would listen. “If the Bar tells me I have to, then I will litigate the Florida Bar that it’s unconstitutional,” he says. Of course, his ideals aren’t quite as high-and-mighty as they sound. He admits to using dirty tricks to win cases—because family law is “gloves off. It’s nasty stuff.” He also represents plenty of bad fathers. “If I had to base my practice on just good dads, I’d be broke,” he says. (More Kenny Leigh stories.)
