A Pennsylvania pizza shop owner was arrested yesterday after allegedly attempting to plant mice in a pair of rival shops, in what the local police chief termed an act of “food terrorism.” Nickolas Galiatsatos, 47, walked into a bathroom at Verona Pizza carrying a plastic bag, police tell My Fox Philly. When he emerged without it, the owner got suspicious. He ventured into the bathroom to find footprints on the toilet seat—and a bag of live mice hidden in the ceiling.
Galiatsatos then went across the street to another pizza place, Uncle Nick’s, where he allegedly dropped a second bag of mice in the trash. Police nabbed him as he left the shop. Investigators say Galiatsatos had recently had mice problems at his own recently opened shop, Bella’s Pizza, and blamed his competitors for them. “I was appalled! Are you kidding me?” said one Uncle Nick’s employee. “It’s never happened in the history of pizza shops, man.” (More pizza stories.)
