Finally, some good news for Amanda Knox? Two forensic scientists have re-examined the alleged murder weapon and found that it doesn't have enough DNA on it even to conduct another test, report the Telegraph and Daily Mail. The knife was one of the key pieces of evidence used to tie Knox to the murder, and if the defense team can discredit the DNA link, it could be a big moment in her appeal.
"There are no traces of usable DNA and for us that's a positive thing," says one of her lawyers. The two scientists conducting the evidence review have to yet to formally present their findings, however, and prosecutors are already downplaying the significance of the leaked reports. The scientists also reportedly can't retest DNA on one of Knox's bra clasps because it's too rusty; it was the main piece of evidence used to convict Raffaele Sollecito along with Knox.
