The CDC wants to make sure you’re prepared … for a zombie apocalypse. In a blog posting Monday that quickly became the organization’s most popular ever, Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan offers helpful tips to prepare for the invasion of “flesh-eating zombies.” Conveniently enough, many of the steps can also be used to prepare for other emergencies and natural disasters, like preparing an emergency kit and a family emergency plan.

An emergency kit, the blog notes, can “get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp,” while an emergency plan indicates important things like “who you would call if zombies started appearing outside your doorstep.” Or, if you happen to be facing, say, a hurricane instead, you could use the same kit or plan. A CDC spokesperson tells Fox News the organization came up with the “tongue-in-cheek” campaign after someone asked if zombies were a concern after the radiation crisis in Japan.
