Ever wondered just how far you can take the whole "all-you-can-eat" thing? Seven teenage boys found out recently. They sat down for the $5 all-you-can-eat pancake deal at a Denny's in California, and didn't stop for 24 hours, the OC Weekly reports. The boys ate 301 pancakes during the marathon binge. That's an average of 43 pancakes and more than 14,000 calories each.
At one point, restaurant employees ran out of pancake batter and had to run out to get more. The story was first reported by Greg Hardesty, the father of one of the boys, who spent the day running for 24 straight hours to benefit the Wounded Warriors project. "They are establishing a new category for the Guinness Book of World Records" for the pancake-athon, he wrote on Facebook. "I think my family has a weird gene." Indeed, one of Hardesty's daughters made headlines in 2009 when she sent more than 14,000 text messages in a month. (More Denny's stories.)
