Nancy Grace is taking some heat for her coverage of the Casey Anthony trial, especially her over-the-top “the devil is dancing” line yesterday. After the verdict, defense attorney Cheney Mason lashed out at those who had “indulged in media assassination”—a line widely believed to be aimed at Grace, according to CBS 12. David Zurawik of the Baltimore Sun was aghast at Grace’s reaction, writing that after watching it, “I have no problem understanding why so many hate the media so much.”

But in an interview with George Stephanopoulos today on ABC, Grace said she had no regrets. “George, I told the truth,” she said. “I’m not going to let some kooky jury stop justice.” Stephanopoulos raised an eyebrow at the word “kooky,” but Grace just laughed. “Yeah. George, come on. Look, I know you’re pretty highbrow and all that, but this was a bad verdict.” Asked about the “media assassination” comment, she replied, “I hardly think anyone was assassinated here except for Caylee.” (More Nancy Grace stories.)
