Crime | Tristane Banon Strauss-Kahn's Ex-Wife May Sue Accuser's Mother Brigitte Guillemette considering defamation suit against Anne Mansouret By Evann Gastaldo Posted Jul 22, 2011 8:32 AM CDT Copied Tristane Banon's mother Anne Mansouret looks on as she is interviewed by Associated Press, in Paris, Thursday July 14, 2011. (AP Photo/Thibault Camus) A new twist in the increasingly bizarre case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn: His second wife may sue Anne Mansouret for defamation following Mansouret's recent claim that she had "brutal sex" with Strauss-Kahn. Brigitte Guillemette, in addition to often being called a friend of Mansouret's in news stories about the case, is the godmother of Mansouret's daughter Tristane Banon—who is accusing Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape. But now Guillemette denies being one of Mansouret's close friends. In an interview with Le Nouvel Observateur cited by New York, Guillemette says, "None of what that woman says is true." She also denies that her daughter Camille was friends with Banon, and says the two women did not meet until after Strauss-Kahn allegedly attacked Banon. As New York notes, this does raise some questions, most notably: If Banon got Camille's phone number from DSK, why wouldn't DSK have warned his daughter to ignore Banon's calls? Click for more on that. Meanwhile, New York Daily News reports that Banon will meet with Manhattan prosecutors in the sexual assault case brought against DSK by a hotel maid.
