Authorities have charged 72 people in connection with an international online pornography club, Eric Holder announced today, touting it as the biggest bust of its kind. The group was called “Dreamboard,” and according to Holder its members “allegedly traded graphic images and videos of adults molesting young children, often violently.” The board allegedly promoted pedophilia, and even encouraged members to sexually abuse minors, CNN reports.
“The rules of Dreamboard were clear: They encouraged and incentivized the creation of child pornography,” Holder said. Members had to upload child porn from their collection to gain access, and if they themselves were molesting children in those videos, they “received elevated status and greater access.” The board originated in Louisiana, but now has members in 13 countries spread across five continents. Of those charged, 52 have been arrested, and 13 already have pled guilty. (More Eric Holder stories.)
