Last week's brawl between a Chinese professional basketball team and the Georgetown Hoyas may have made for embarrassed officials, but it also made the Hoyas a hot ticket, reports ABC News. Yesterday's game in Shanghai was the first since the fight, and half an hour before the start the arena was already packed—though the game was supposed to be a rematch with the Bayi team, the Hoyas were pitted against another team due to a scheduling change.
But there was no need to worry about a repeat of Friday's violence: "The officials definitely had control of this game from the start," said a sportswriter. "You could tell they weren't going to let it get anywhere near out of control." The teams made nice, too. "We both felt that ... it was important that we got in a room and sit down and acknowledge it's time to move on," said Georgetown coach John Thompson. The two teams apparently "moved on" by swapping autographed basketballs. (More basketball stories.)
