You may have heard that certain members of the gay community are not huge fans of presidential contender Rick Santorum. Well, Santorum himself is well aware of that fact, and during a South Carolina campaign stop Friday, he accused the gay community of having "gone out on a, I would argue, jihad against Rick Santorum" ever since he compared "gay sex to incest and polygamy." (He also compared it to pedophilia and bestiality, The Hill notes.)
“Gay Jihad? Well, let's fack-check that,” writes Jim Newell on Gawker. “No, no people are putting their lives in danger in order to make the occasional Internet joke about Rick Santorum, sorry.” During the same campaign stop, Santorum also made an inspired analogy between gay marriage and a napkin, while holding up said napkin. “This is a napkin. A napkin is what a napkin is. It isn't a paper towel. It isn't a car,” he explained. “You can call a napkin a car, but it doesn't make it a car.
