(AP Photo/Algerian Presidency, ho) Khamis Gadhafi, Moammar Gadhafi's feared son who commanded an elite military unit known as the Khamis Brigade, has been reported killed in a NATO strike, reports Sky News. A man at the scene of a bombed-out Toyota Landcruiser says that the younger Gadhafi was in it when a NATO Apache helicopter hit it with a rocket, instantly incinerating it. A senior rebel officer seconded the claim to Reuters, saying that Khamis Gadhafi had been taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. Human Rights Watch today linked the Khamis Brigade to the slaughter of detainees last week in a warehouse. The news comes even as Moammar Gadhafi's wife, two sons, and daughter are confirmed to have fled to Algeria. It's worth noting that Khamis Gadhafi has been reported dead before.
