Glenn Beck thinks it's time to ditch "African American" and go back to using "black" or even "colored," or so he said on his radio program earlier this week, reports the Cleveland Leader. "Didn't you feel ridiculously stupid everywhere in Africa, in Europe, in South America, in Jerusalem, when you would say the words 'African-American?" Beck asked his co-host. While admitting that America "sucked, beyond sucked" for blacks for a long time, Beck theorized that the term "African American" has no real purpose besides making African Americans feel good about themselves. "And you weren't over in Africa. Your great-great-great grandfather was. Your great-great-great-great grandfather may have been. But you weren't," he said, adding: "Be proud to be an American."
