Never shy about trumpeting scoops from the mountaintops, the National Enquirer's latest is, as usual, less than subtle: "WORLD EXCLUSIVE! SARAH PALIN BOMBSHELL BOOK SHOCKING CLAIMS!" Turns out the Enquirer says it has sources with information about Joe McGinniss' upcoming book on Palin, and they say it reveals that Palin had what the tabloid terms a "steamy interracial hookup" with NBA player Glen Rice in 1987, nine months before marrying Todd Palin. (They also say that both Sarah and Todd have used cocaine; Palin allegedly once snorted cocaine off an oil drum during a snowmobiling trip.)

Palin had a "fetish" for black guys, one source says, and "hauled (Rice's) ass down" after she met him at a college basketball tournament in Alaska. At the time, Rice was a University of Michigan player and Palin was fresh out of college and reporting on sports for an Anchorage TV station—and, another source claims, already involved with her future husband. Rice reportedly confirms the one-night stand in the book. McGinniss also supposedly confirms that Palin had a six-month-long extramarital affair with Todd's business partner, which the Enquirer reported in 2008. The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin is out Tuesday, conveniently timed around speculation over a Palin 2012 campaign. (More Joe McGinniss stories.)
