As some of us suspected, Michaele Salahi wasn't kidnapped—she just ran off with a rock star. But mystery remains: How exactly does she know Journey guitarist Neal Schon? The Washington Post points to a 2009 story revealing that, prior to becoming famous for crashing a White House dinner, the Salahis filmed a video with Journey to promote their controversial polo tournament—a tournament Journey also performed at.
TMZ adds that Salahi has been dating Schon and also had a prior romantic relationship with him, which she's called an "intimate and passionate relationship." After her husband Tareq reported her missing yesterday, Mediabistro notes that a sheriff's deputy got Salahi on the phone, and she said she did not want to be home at the moment, she had left with a good friend, and she did not want her husband to know where she was.
