Prince Harry in Calif. This Week for Training

Prince Harry will arrive in California this week but he won't be getting the red-carpet treatment his brother received earlier this year. The prince is coming to America for two months of helicopter gunship training at bases in California and Arizona, CNN reports. "He will be Captain Wales when he is here," says the commanding US officer at the Naval Air Facility at El Centro. "He will be treated like any other British pilot."

Harry and 19 other British pilots will be training on Apache attack helicopters in a desert north of the Mexican border. Conditions there resemble those in Afghanistan, where Harry is expected to go after training is completed. The British airmen, like US troops, won't be allowed to cross the border into Mexico during their free time but they are at liberty to go anywhere else, including Las Vegas, which sits roughly halfway between the two bases where Harry will be training.
