Crime | missing baby Video of 'Mystery Man' Emerges in Baby Lisa Case Video seems to support two previously reported sightings By Evann Gastaldo Posted Oct 24, 2011 9:03 AM CDT Copied This file photo provided Oct. 4, 2011, by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, shows Lisa Irwin. (AP Photo, Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, File) Good Morning America has obtained a new surveillance video of a “mystery man” leaving a wooded area near the home of missing baby Lisa Irwin around 2:30am the day she disappeared. The video may support two witness reports of a man seen carrying a baby in the early morning hours—the witnesses took notice of the man because they say he was wearing only a T-shirt on the cold night. A man on a motorcycle says he saw the T-shirt-clad man carrying a baby three miles from the Irwin home around 4am on Oct. 4. A few hours prior to that sighting, a couple also says they saw a similarly dressed man, holding a baby who did not appear to be wearing anything but a diaper. But a former FBI agent questions whether the mystery man was actually involved, since it seems strange that a kidnapper would remain in the same area with the child for hours. “That doesn't make any sense,” he says. “The logic of abducting a child is so you can take the child to some other location.” Police are also investigating a Dumpster fire that took place in the area around the same time.
